Household water bills set to rise by more than five per cent

Average household water bills in Yorkshire are set to increase by 5.6% in April – around £2.80 per month – to help fund an £8.3bn investment programme, which will improve customer service and environmental outcomes across the region. Local flood defence works hampered by wintry weather

Bad weather has slowed progress on a £17m project set to strengthen flood defences on Dutch River near Goole which will help protect around 10,000 properties. Hospital visitors asked to wear masks

Visitors to wards and clinical departments at Hull Royal Infirmary are being asked to wear face masks to protect patients from winter illnesses. Patients at Goole Hospital are benefiting from a new therapy chair thanks to a fundraising walk which raised almost £3,000.
