Santa set to swing by Hook

Santa set to swing by Hook ’Tis the season of goodwill, and this year Santa will visit Hook on his travels to help raise money for the renovation of St Mary’s Church. The annual Hook Santa ride around the village will take place on December 21 from 3.30pm. There will be refreshments, raffle and children’s activities in the Memorial Hall from 3.30pm and at River Close. Patients at Goole Hospital are benefiting from a new therapy chair thanks to a fundraising walk which raised almost £3,000. Tony Lister, 50, from Grimsby, organised a three-mile sponsored walk in 2023 from the Cleethorpes pier to the leisure centre to raise funds for the Neuro Rehabilitation Centre (NRC).He spent time on the NRC after suffering a stroke in 2021.
