More than 20 charities and organisations that work in Goole came together to celebrate and highlight their work this weekend.

The groups, under the title Together for Goole, showcased the work of their band of volunteers during and open day in the town centre on Saturday, July 24. The event was organised by East Riding and Goole Councillor, Anne Handley, and the chair of Goole Civic Society, Margaret Hicks-Clarke, who both sit on the Town Deal Board. It was also supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the Town Deal Board and aimed to give residents a chance to meet the local volunteers who have kept our town going over the pandemic as well as learn more about the £25million Goole Town Deal. Some of the organisations present on the day included Castaway, Goole RSPCA, Howden Rotary Club and Goole Civic Society.
