A Goole pub has made a generous cash donation to a worthy cause chosen by customers.
The Steam Packet donated £205.80 to Helping Others on Tuesday, June 7 after money was raised through a weekly draw hosted by the pub.
Bruce Kelly, landlord at the pub said: “As a community pub we feel it is important to give back to the local community. We hold a weekly Sunday draw and all money raised is donated to local causes chosen by customers. “We also recently made a donation to Kingsway School and this time customers suggested Helping Others as the chosen cause.” Two local residents, Roger Ellwood and Dave Wilcock also made a donation to the charity this week to help fund its vital work.
The charity’s manager, Melanie Charlton said: “We held a raffle stall during Picnic in the Park which managed to raise £270 and Roger and Dave generously offered a donation to take us up to £400. “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Roger, Dave and Bruce for their generous donations this week which will help us continue our work in support local residents.”
