Two teams from Goole Gymnastics Club, recently travelled to Scarborough to compete in the Yorkshire Teamgym Championships.
The teams of nine and ten gymnasts had to perform on trampette and vault then show three tumbling runs. Very early, the Youth team were the first in their competition and although they did not attempt the hardest or most complex moves, they were so much neater than the opposition. Gaining highest scores on both trampette and tumble, the Goole team won Gold and became the Yorkshire Champions. Some of this team have been very busy becoming BG Gymnastics Helpers after a course in Hull.
Later, the primary team, all in their first competition, performed smoothly and despite nerves, and being against teams with more experience eventually came third, winning bronze medals. The Display Team from Goole Gymnastics Club are performing with 19 teams from around the country on Sunday, June 26, in one of the British Gymnastics series of festivals. There are still some tickets available from the Barbican Box Office.
