October 26, 2021

Today, the search for a missing teenager from Airmyn is continuing and there is ‘increasing concern’ for her safety.

Named by police only as Zara, the 18-year-old was last seen at around 6.30pm on Sunday evening, October 24.

She is described as five feet six inches tall with shoulder length, brown hair with blue highlights at either side. When she was last sighted, she was wearing a black winter coat, dark tracksuit bottoms, maroon Dr Martens and carrying a handbag.

Throughout Monday afternoon and evening, Humberside Police were seen searching the Airmyn area. Officers took to the river in boats on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, and coastguard helicopter was used on Monday evening to scour the area around Airmyn and the nearby River Ouse.

By Tuesday morning, a Humberside Police spokesperson said that they were ‘growing increasingly concerned for Zara’ and urged anyone who may have seen her or knows here whereabouts to get in touch.

The spokesperson added: “Searches continue today in the Airmyn area to locate 18 year-old Zara, who was reported to us as missing from her home.”

Anyone who has seen Zara, or knows her whereabouts, is asked to call Humberside Police on their non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 522 of 24 October.
