Humberside Police are appealing for information after the alleged attempted abduction of a young girl in Goole.
The police force say they received a report of a concern for safety from a member of the public on Saturday, June 25, after it is believed that a man had attempted to accost a young girl on Airmyn Road, Goole.
A spokesperson for the police force said: “The girl sensibly did not accept the offer and told her parents straight away who reported the incident to us.
“Officers were promptly deployed to carry out a thorough area search however, no suspect was located.
“Local policing teams are continuing to patrol the area offering reassurance, if you do have any concerns please speak to them.
“We are now appealing for anybody who may have been in vicinity at the time of the incident, or moments prior and saw anyone acting suspiciously who hasn’t yet spoken to us to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 320 25 June.”
