Staff from the Goole branch of TSB held a sponsored litter pick in aid of children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters.
The staff members took to Pasture Road and the town centre to clean up the area on Monday, September 13, in a bid to raise funds for the charity as part of TSB’s nationwide Cancer Awareness Month campaign. Goole branch staff member and TSB Community Ambassador, Anglela Wilson, is responsible for the charity work done in all TSB branches between Edinburgh and Wakefield and she organised the event in Goole. She said: “It was great to have the staff taking part, including our customer manager Rachel Hall, branch manager Nick Mooring and new starter, George Mason. “Lynda Needham who has worked at Goole for the last 22 years is leaving this Friday and also joined us for the litter pick which will be her last charity event for TSB”.
Lynda added: “To see the difference before and afterwards was well worth it. Litter picking does get addictive and it certainly makes the community look a lot nicer.” The team managed to collect 30 bags of litter as well as two Tesco’s trollies which were returned to the supermarket car park. The team are still collecting sponsorship money for their litter pick and donations can be made in store in the charity buckets positioned in the bank foyer. Throughout September the team will also be holding an in-store tombola to raise extra cash for the charity.
