Family run business, Jos Richardson and Son Ltd, has announced they have purchased a local convenience store in Gilberdyke.
The purchase of the Budgens store on Scalby Lane in the village adds a ninth site to the companies existing portfolio of petrol forecourts, including Glews Services at Goole, Longs Corner Service Station at Howden, as well as a range of sites across North and West Yorkshire. Managing Director, Joseph Richardson said: “We are delighted to have purchased Budgens in Gilberdyke. The store has a very good reputation locally and we want to continue offering the people of Gilberdyke and surrounding areas the highest standards of customer service and value.”
The village store has been run by Philip and Lesley Whitaker since the late 1980’s and they have developed the store considerably over the years. Joseph Richardson added: “Philip and Lesley are now selling up to enjoy a well-earned retirement and we wish them every happiness in the future. “We look forward to working with the existing team to build on the great work that Philip and Lesley have done over the years. This is the first of our sites to focus solely on convenience and we are very excited by this new chapter for our company.”
