Eastrington Village Hall Association is celebrating following the installation of new automatic doors at the venue.
The hall is officially back up and running following a launch event attended by the members of the Eastrington Bowls club and the Treehouse Nursery who both use the facility. The new and improved entry way means visitors no longer need to open big heavy doors and in particular people with limited mobility or using prams can access the village hall much easier. The new doors were funded by a £14,038 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund. Janet Trezise, Chair of Eastrington Village Hall Association is delighted that the project is now in use.
She said: “This vital facility is going to make a real difference to those who use it, as well as the wider Eastrington community. We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without its support.” Cheryl Raynor, FCC Communities Foundation Local Grant Manager added: “We are delighted to have supported Village Hall Association to bring this project to fruition. This is an important facility for local people, and we are pleased to see it open and to have played a small part in creating an easily accessible facility for all.” There are even more updates on the way at the hall too as the village hall association has also revealed they have been awarded a further £50,000 from the FCC Communities Foundation which will go towards building a multi use games area on the playing fields behind the hall.
