Goole Museum’s annual Open Art Exhibition is calling out for new artists to submit their work.
The exhibition will return from Saturday, April 20 to Saturday, June 22. The museum is currently looking for artists and creative people living in and around Goole to submit artwork. The exhibition, which is in its tenth year, celebrates the creativity of local amateur and professional artists, and provides an exciting opportunity for members of the community to display and sell their artwork. Previous exhibitions have seen a fascinating array of artwork, including impressive paintings and photography. Textiles are also welcomed, as well as sculptures, ceramics and digital entries.
Goole Museum curator, Dr Alex Ombler, says: “We’re very excited to welcome local artists to submit their artwork for the 2024 Open Art Exhibition at Goole Museum. “Last year we displayed the work of some immensely talented artists from Goole and the surrounding area, and we’d like to encourage entrants in past exhibitions to come back and display their artwork. “We’d also like to invite new entrants to submit their work at the museum, which is a very friendly and welcoming place. “The gallery for our temporary exhibitions is a great space to showcase and or sell your work.” Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, added: “The Open Art exhibition at Goole Museum is always very popular with our very talented local artists, and it always includes some remarkable and stunning artwork. “We are looking forward to another big response this year, and another great exhibition!” (25-01-013 SU)
