Goole families have been treated to a trip to the beach this summer thanks to two Goole community groups.
Families in Goole (FIG) teamed up with Goole Gofar to run two trips to Bridlington during the school holidays, to provide families with a fun, affordable and accessible day out. The families enjoyed a day by the seaside, having fun on the sand and enjoying plenty of classic seaside activities.
The group’s chair, Kerry Kirkpatrick said: “Our families had requested us to have an outing in the school holidays, and we were very keen to try and accommodate community needs. A trip to the beach for the children was a very popular suggestion, and we worked with Goole Gofar to make this happen. Factors like accessibility and finance mean children sometimes don’t get the opportunity visit the seaside. By removing those barriers everyone had a great day out. Over the two trips we had sun, rain, sandcastles, chips, laughter, ice cream and buses full of tired, happy children! We would love to do these trips annually and offer places to as many families as we can. Coming to our drop-in is a great way to be the first to hear about our events and have a brew!”
